Vale: Brett Tooke – 18.04.1966 ~ 05.03.2019

It is with a heavy heart that we advise Brett Tooke – former Motafrenz President and long-term member passed away at 8.45am this morning after a short illness.

Brett served on the Motafrenz committee as President and as the Club’s representative to other motoring bodies in Victoria.

His smiling face, generally bubbly demeanor and raucous laugh have been a highlight of club events for many years and he will be sadly missed. His seemingly unending knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, his beloved Morris ADO16 was astounding.

To those who visited or enquired about his well-being – Brett asked me to express his thanks to you all, as during his illness, has was surrounded by friends from near and far.

We are going to farewell Brett, in the way he would want to be remembered, so bring your classic or contemporary car, and dress to the nines.

His memorial will be held Thursday 14th March at 11:45am
Joyce Chapel – Fawkner Memorial Park,
1187 Sydney Road, Fawkner.

From approximately 1pm, after the service, mourners will be invited to partake of refreshments at the Tearooms, in the grounds of the Memorial Park.

Former Motafrenz President, Brett Tooke has been moved to palliative care

To all present and former members of Motafrenz, I have the sad news that longstanding member, former President, Brett Tooke has been moved to palliative care after a short, terminal illness.

Brett is hospitalised at St Vincents Public Hospital on Victoria Parade – he is in Ward 6 East, Bed 16.2. He is welcoming visitors during visiting hours (8.00am to 8.00pm). He is not in pain.

The Committee of Motafrenz and I encourage any of you who count Brett as one of your friends, to visit him during this time. He is currently lucid, but this is expected to change as his condition deteriorates.

Brett’s contributions and service to Motafrenz are numerous and long.

Notice will be forthcoming once the circumstance calls.

If you would like any updates, please feel free to contact me via

Best Wishes,
Alan Benedetti
President, Motafrenz Car Club
