Event Recap – AGM & Members Car Show 2023

A cool but sunny morning greeted us on our way to the AGM being held in Springvale. I attended my first Motafrenz event here last year with Alan – my now boyfriend.

I’m a new member – my name is Vince. I was introduced to the club by Alan and have been coming to events for nearly a year since I moved to Melbourne.

After much mingling and chat – all whilst viewing the wide array of interesting member vehicles on display, I had made my hellos to all I know. The display cars – from tiny to huge – were a great sight. I voted for my favourite vehicle – Matt G’s Lincoln Town Car – and headed inside. During the walk around, Alan was nowhere to be seen, so when it came to discussion about his car, I summed it up like he would – it’s a boring silver Volvo. Paul H had suggested I bring along my Nissan Navara to display, but other than being old, it is just too ugly to show. 😊

Once inside we continued to mingle and grab a drink before proceedings commenced.

The formalities of the day ran very smoothly – well, except for Gordon changing the slides when he was speaking, but this was more amusing than disruptive. Congratulations to the out-going committee for organizing the meeting so it ran well and congratulations to the new committee.

Once the AGM was over, it was time for lunch – I hear it was good, but I was not hungry after a big breakfast.

After the raffle draw and some more chat, I bid my goodbyes and headed home.

See you soon!
