DETAILS: The Motafrenz Brett Tooke Memorial Drive commemorates all members who have left us for the big carpark in the sky. This year we are having it on ANZAC day with a drive to the Bonnie Doone Hotel as we did back in May of 2019 when Eildon Weir was somewhat parched and will be going via the picturesque Yarra Ranges National Park. Elden weir is currently at 100% capacity making the Bonnie Doone Pub a ‘wet block’ with spectacular water views at its doorstep.
It’s a 2 hour drive to the Bonnie Doon Pub from the meeting place via the Black Spur and Alexandra where we’ll be stopping for a short break and taking in the scenery. And a half hour shorter drive back via Yea.
WHEN: Tuesday 25 April 2023
TIME: 9:30 am for a 10:00 am departure from the pre-meet and arriving at the Bonnie Doone Hotel between midday and 1 pm for lunch outdoors unless the weather is inclement.
MEET: We will pre-meet outside the Noodle Box at Chirnside Park once again. 239 Maroondah Highway, Chirnside Park. The Reading Cinemas are opposite.
BRING: Yourself and friends and your memories of those members that are no longer with us.
SUITS: You may choose to bring your classic vehicle or something a bit more modern depending on how you feel for a longer drive than usual. You may choose to carpool too and can consider this at the pre-meet.
ROADS: Sealed – Freeway & main roads
PETS: Welcome outdoors at the pub if on a lead but we may be dining inside if the weather turns where they won’t be allowed.
