Movie Night – The Rally
Saturday 14 January
6:30 PM – Armadale
So from all the other stories and my ramblings, you’ve no doubt heard about the Shitbox. But want to know more officially?
The first Shitbox Rally was held in 2010 and each year a film crew go along. Initially they made a mix of daily video’s of a couple of minutes each or longer video’s of the whole rally up to 30 minutes, depending on the year. But in 2014 a film crew accompanied the rally to make the feature length movie The Rally.
The Rally follows the 2014 Shitbox Rally as it travels from Perth to Darwin. It tells the story of why some people are in it, and why they’re driving a car worth less than $1000 on the arduous journey. The whole story is shot to the amazing backdrop of outback Australia, predominantly through Western Australia.
You can watch a preview of the movie at https://vimeo.com/275775756.

The Rally was originally produced for National Geographic People, and was the highest rating show on the station. Now you can watch it without access to National Geographic on pay TV.
As part of our fundraising, we’re holding a screening of The Rally in Armadale on Saturday 14 January at 6:00pm. Tickets are only $15 each, and available online from https://www.trybooking.com/CESYZ.
After the film, you can hang around for a brief Q&A with Daniel and Anthony, or you can head out to one of the numerous restaurants on High Street Armadale for dinner.
The screening will be held in a corporate function room. While there isn’t a candy bar, you can bring your own food and drinks. Address details are on the ticket when booked.
Please note that the venue is accessed via two flights of stairs.
